Your Teacher - Jeremy Joseph
- Jeremy has been a landscape photographer for the last two decades, and a full time professional for ten years.
- Graduated from Colorado Mountain College with a degree in photography.
- Has sold hundreds of his own fine art prints at outdoor markets and his gallery.
- Award wining photographer both local and national. Published in places like Rock and Ice Magazine, and Smithsonian Natural History Museum.
- Over a decade of experience backpacking in wilderness and climbing mountains.
What Will I Learn?
Day 1: All things Camera
-Learn about the different kind of digital cameras, and what each of them can do.
-Discuss the different kind of lenses available, and which ones you might want for landscape photography.
-Discover how to use your camera manually, and the settings like aperture, shutter, ISO, and white balance.
-Go over the different semi automatic modes and when they are ideal to use.
-Gain insight into the different file types available in your camera, and when to use them.
-Gear discussions about tripods, ball heads, and all the things you may not think about.
Day 1: All Things Editing
-Importing pictures from your camera onto a computer, and learn how to organize them.
-Filtering through all your images, and finding the selects you want to edit and show the world.
-Basic editing techniques using the develop module in Lightroom.
-Export images for digital media and print
- Optional assignment that will engage you to use what was discussed.
Day 2: Elements of Composition / Hiking in the landscape
- Talk about the elements of composition and how they help you make better photographs.
- Discuss topics like Figure Ground, and Gestalt Principles and how they can be used to strengthen images.
- Techniques that will help you in various situations like shooting into the sun, blurring water, and get the stars of the night sky.
- Tips on how to stay comfortable and creative when in harsh elements outside, and the importance it has on your photographs.
- Different programs that can be used to help you scout locations and know where you are when hiking in the wilderness.
- Optional assignment that will engage you to use what was discussed.
What Do I Need To Have?
- Digital Camera that is either a DSLR or a Mirrorless.
- Lens to go with the camera
-Lap top computer
-Adobe Lightroom: This is a $10 month subscription.
